Velas (VLX), the cryptocurrency that powers the Velas self-optimizing blockchain platform, will soon be supported by the number one blockchain-based travel booking platform – Travala.

Travala.com will soon accept Velas tokens (VLX), in addition to other leading crypto assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and AVA – Travala.com’s native cryptocurrency – for bookings at over 2.2 million hotels and homes, and more than 40 thousand activities in 230 countries across the world.

This utility pushes forward Velas’ mission to empower individuals and capture value through new applications of technology – providing a stronger, more cohesive ecosystem for the Velas community while unlocking additional value for VLX holders and users.

Benefits for VLX Holders

The partnership will enable VLX holders to participate in a cheaper, fairer, and more inclusive travel economy while also enhancing the utility of the VLX token, which can now be used for a huge range of travel bookings on Travala – such as flights, tours, cruises, car rentals, restaurants, and more.

As part of the new collaboration, Velas will begin using Travala’s business account services for company travel arrangements.

With potential savings of up to 40% compared with other online travel agencies and with a best price guarantee offered as standard, Travala represents a more economical way to travel – with none of the usual sacrifices.

Velas Founder and CEO Alex Alexandrov said:

“We’re incredibly excited to announce this partnership with Travala, offering our community the ability to participate in a cheaper, fairer, and more inclusive travel economy powered by VLX.”

“Velas is changing the way we interact with and understand crypto, and this partnership is a step along the way towards our ultimate goal of a world where the Velas ecosystem is a normal part of everyday life.”

VLX users will now be able to access their favorite airlines and hotel booking agencies directly through Travala, and will be able to purchase Travala.com gift cards with a 10% discount.

On top of this, by booking trips through Travala using VLX tokens, users will be able to gain access to a range of additional rewards, including potential bonuses, and as much as an additional 5% discount using the SMART loyalty program.

Juan Otero, CEO of Travala.com, said:

“We’re excited to be partnering with Velas, who are pushing the boundaries of innovation with their approach to blockchain tech. Together with the talented Alex Alexandrov – who also founded the ever-popular CoinPayments – and the Velas team, our sights are firmly set on furthering crypto adoption with new collaborative projects.”

As the token that powers the secure, high-throughput Velas ecosystem, VLX is designed to provide users with an incredibly fast and secure store of value and transactional unit backed by Velas’ AI-operated blockchain platform.

About Velas

Velas is an advanced blockchain platform that uses a self-evolving delegated proof-of-stake (dPoS) network to ensure performance and security are maximized at all times. This uses an AI-powered system along with a network of node holders to automatically roll out adjustments to the blockchain without requiring a hard fork.

Recently named one of the top 50 crypto valley companies by CV VC, Velas is designed to eliminate the scaling and usability issues that often come with cryptocurrencies, and is accessed through the multi-asset Velas wallet – currently available for both mobile and desktop devices.
