Ripple has teamed up with Madonna’s Raising Malawi to raise funds for orphans and vulnerable children in the southeast African country.

Following the intention of expanding its activities, Ripple establishes partnerships not only with banks and financial institutions – now Ripple is pushing back the limits and is going in for social activity as well. Via cooperation with non-profit organization Raising Malawi, Ripple is going to raise funds for orphans and children in need in the Republic of Malawi.

In its official blog post, Ripple stated that in a number of developing countries including Malawi there are a lot of children who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDs and now just do not receive enough care. That’s why Ripple has decided to pay attention to such aspects as education, healthcare, and financial wellbeing of children living in this southeast African country.

Ripple took a decision not to stand idly by and to provide its help to orphans and vulnerable children of Malawi by launching a month-long campaign. The campaign has started on July 30 and will last till August 31. All public donations will be allocated for the help to children in need. Thanks to Ripple, it will be possible to sponsor children directly through Facebook.

A charity organization Raising Malawi was established in 2006 by the legendary pop icon Madonna. The idea of the organization is to help orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi to overcome the problems and challenges they may face.

At Raising Malawi, it is believed that vulnerable children deserve more than just to have an opportunity to survive. Together with local organizations, Raising Malawi is doing its best to give these children a chance to study, develop and build their future. And cooperation with Ripple will definitely open new horizons for the organization.

Ripple has always shown its interest in allocating some part of its funds for philanthropy with a view to help people from developing countries to join the global community. The company wants to provide these people with an access to fundamental human services, education, healthcare, etc.

Ripple team expressed real excitement about their new partnership. Eric van Miltenburg, SVP of Business Operations at Ripple, said:

“We’re honored to be a part of Raising Malawi’s amazing work with some of the world’s most underserved children and are grateful to our investors at Sound Ventures for making the introduction to us and this important cause”.

Though the campaign  began only a couple of days ago, according to a Facebook donations page, more than $27,500 from nearly 580 people has been already raised, which means that the campaign has received nearly a half of its $60,000 target.

Allocating funds for philanthropy and launching projects addressing social issues is becoming quite a common thing in the crypto community. Just a month ago, Coinbase announced the launch of Givecrypto.org, a new cryptocurrency powered charity. Donations on the platform will be made in cryptocurrency and will be used to help people in need.
