Biggest Poker Software Hold’em Manager Now Accepts Bitcoin

Hold’em Manager, one of the most popular pieces of software for online poker players, has recently announced that it will now accept bitcoin.
Hold’em Manager has announced on its support forum that now it accepts bitcoin in the Hold’em Manager Store:
“We are excited to announce that the Hold’em Manager store is now accepting Bitcoin for HM2 and HM Apps.”
Including Bitcoin, there are now six methods of purchasing Hold’em Manager 2, with other payment options like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, and Neteller.
In addition to being able to purchase Hold’em Manager 2 with bitcoin, poker players who already own the software, can also purchase Hold’em Manager 2 applications, provided that they are not subscription-based, which means that NoteCaddy Premium, Leak Buster 4.0, SitNGo Wizard 2, Tilt Breaker, and most of the Table Scanner 2 services can all be purchased with the digital currency.
However, bitcoin is not currently accepted for the subscription-based applications TableNinja II and the Table Scanner 2’s Insta-Scan service.
Among two biggest powerhouses in the third-party poker software industry PokerTracker and Hold’em Manager, only Hold’em Manager accepts digital currency so far.
“According to insiders at Max Value Software, the parent company to Hold’em Manager and PokerTracker, the group plans to expand the acceptance of Bitcoins to those interested in purchasing PokerTracker 4,” writes Jason Glatzer at Poker Software.
“When these two poker software behemoths both accept Bitcoin, we’d expect that anyone who quickly doesn’t follow suit will be quickly behind the game and potentially lose customers who are interested in paying anonymously,” he added.
The new feature not only adds further legitimacy of bitcoin as a viable currency to buy and sell goods and services, but also opens ground for other poker software companies to set up this option as well.
However, it is surprising that an innovative company like Hold’em Manager is accepting this form of payment before every other online poker software provider.
Before purchasing Hold’em Manager 2, one can try the software out on a free trial to make sure it helps as much as advertised.
