The Shiba Inu protocol has its own metaverse project dubbed the Shiberse which qualifies it to sit at the table with pioneering protocols like Decentraland and The Sandbox.
The World Economic Forum (WEF), an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging businesses and political leaders, is planning to engage the Shiba Inu (SHIB) developers in its bid to float a global metaverse policy.
The invitation to work on the metaverse policy was made known by one of the key developers in the Shiba Inu ecosystem known by the name Shytoshi Kusama. He posted the news on Twitter where he posted a survey requesting his followers to decide whether the team should accept the invitation or not.
Despite the current bearish outlook in the blockchain ecosystem, many projects are still attempting to live up to their expectations of being a decentralized community. The move by Kusama to share the news and seek the Shiba Inu community’s opinion on the way to go is just his way of showing how much the project values the input of everyone.
“#ShibArmy I need a quick vote: We have been kindly invited to work with the WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM as it pertains to their MV global policy. Would love to know what you all think because it’s not our decision, but yours,” he said in the tweet.

As of the time of writing, as many as 18,998 has participated in the poll with 62.7% saying they want the project to work with the WEF. 27.2% did not want the association while 10.2% said they are non-committal to the venture as a whole.
While the timeline for the poll is yet to be disclosed, should the majority take a position with the project working with the WEF, Kusama said the Shiba Inu team will “be at the table with policy makers and would help shape global policy for the MV alongside other giants like FB (bye Zuck), Sand, Decentraland etc. And please don’t ask my opinion, you already know.”
Shiba Inu Leading New Metaverse Frontier
Shiba Inu started as a major competitor to Dogecoin (DOGE) but the memecoin has grown to become one of the most respected in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The memecoin has amassed a dedicated following in part due to its consistent churn out of innovation.
The Shiba Inu protocol has its own metaverse project dubbed the Shiberse which qualifies it to sit at the table with pioneering protocols like Decentraland and The Sandbox. While it is not yet clear what the exact role of Shiba Inu or the drafted partners who will be working with the WEF will be, the depth of insight and innovation into the metaverse concept as backed by blockchain technology can be brought to life by these teams.
Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META) will complete the WEF global metaverse policy verticals by bringing the mainstream Web2 perspective of the metaverse into the mix. All in all, Shiba Inu engagement with the WEF is bound to diversify the policy that is to be designed.
