Buterin said that the first phase of Ethereum 2.0 is “in some ways simpler than eth1 and in some ways more complex.” Anyway, he believes that the launch will take place this year.
The next Ethereum system-wide upgrade, Eth 2.0, will not launch in Q2 2020 as scheduled, but developers are still confident that the original network parameters will deploy in 2020.
While the community waits for an official announcement, Justin Drake has suggested the launch date for Ethereum 2.0 in July next year.
A new version of Ethereum to be introduced on January 3, 2020. The launch of Ethereum 2.0, which apart from other things is aimed to address scalability and transaction speeds, will also mark Bitcoin’s 11-year anniversary.
