Internet Computer (ICP)
The Internet Computer was created by Dominic Williams alongside a team organized as the DFINITY Foundation. The relatively young cryptocurrency was featured in a report on cryptocurrencies released by Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: GS). Per the report, the investment banking giant noted a set of positive and negative features about the ICP cryptocurrency.
The pros as highlighted by Goldman Sachs include the fact that ICP is innovative, and could pave the way as the technology of the future. The protocol seeks to bring decentralization to the internet cloud infrastructure, to combat the big centralized players in the ecosystem.
While a set of cons were also highlighted, ICP backers chose to focus on the pros, a move that sent the price of cryptocurrency skyrocketing in the past days. At present, the coin is trading at $43.92, up 36.28% in the past 24 hours at the time of writing. This, however, is a far cry from the coin’s all-time high price of $737.20, attained when the coin was newly launched.
Dogecoin (DOGE)
Dogecoin is one of the most popular memecoins today, one that has particularly gained more prominence this year, all thanks to Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO, Elon Musk. The cryptocurrency has particularly received a mild rejuvenation after Musk supported the proposal to scale down the cryptocurrency’s gas fee.
Per the proposal submitted by Dogecoin developer Ross Nicoll, there is a need to reduce the gas fee by 50x in order to stay competitive against new cryptocurrencies promising very cheap transaction charges. Elon Musk, who has shown interest in times past to contribute to the development of the protocol said the proposal is “Important to Support.”
At the time of writing, Dogecoin is changing hands at $0.2576, up 5.03% in the past 24 hours. The coin is ranked the 6th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization according to CoinMarketCap.
Shiba Inu (SHIB)
Shiba Inu, the memecoin that is giving Dogecoin the stiffest competition is also one of the top 3 trending cryptocurrencies. The token may get featured on a Nascar car driven by Landon Cassill. This is if the Shiba Inu community can convince Stephen Ehrlich, the Chief Executive Officer of Voyager Digital Ltd (OTC: VYGVF). The catch that can prompt this backing to publicize Shiba Inu can be spiked by a broad registration on Voyager accounts. This has pushed a number of Shiba Inu fans to open accounts and post evidence on Twitter.
