After successfully hosting the IVS Kyoto event in 2023, the IVS Kyoto executive committee has released the details for this year’s annual crypto conference in Japan. According to the announcement, the IVS Crypto 2024 Kyoto event will happen between Thursday, July 4, and Saturday, July 6, 2024. The highly decorated crypto and web3 event in Japan will be held at the Kyoto Pulse Plaza.

In addition to the IVS Crypto 2024 Kyoto, the executive committee announced that the conference will happen alongside the Japan Blockchain Week Summit, in a bid to bring more Web3 enthusiasts together.

Candid Details of the IVS Crypto 2024 Kyoto Event

In 2023, the IVS Kyoto event attracted more than 10,500 attendees, including 300 speakers and more than 150 side events. Having hosted a flashy event, the IVS executive committee has prepared an even much bigger conference this year via the concept of ‘Cross the Boundaries’. Moreover, the web3 industry has grown into a major global industry enabling seamless and near-instant transfer of data and money across traditional geographical borders.

With the crypto industry having established itself over the past few years, the IVS Crypto executive committee has requested the attendees to focus on the evolution and application of blockchain technology. In addition, the attendees of the IVS Crypto 2024 Kyoto have been informed to explore the future of web3 technology via the gaming sector, artificial intelligence (AI), and entertainment.

Some of the top speakers at the IVS Crypto 2024 Kyoto stage include Mo Shaikh, CEO and Co-Founder of Aptos Labs, Sebastien Borget, Co-founder of the Sandbox (SAND), Joichi Ito, President of Chiba Institute of Technology, Mai Fujimoto, Co-founder of  INTMAX, and Waka Itagaki, Deputy Director of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, among many others.

During the three-day event, the  Kyoto Pulse Plaza will be a bee hive of activities including dozens of web3 project booths. Additionally, this year’s IVS event intends to host an exclusive zone for web3 entrepreneurs to socialize.

Moreover, the IVS executive committee anticipates attracting more than 50,000 attendees during this year’s conference.

“WaveHack Global Demo Day is another highlight, with the winning hackathon teams set to win prizes totaling $500,000 and the opportunity to present their Web 3.0 projects at future events such as EDCON and WebX,” the announcement noted.

Closer Look at Japan Blockchain Week 2024

The Japan Blockchain Week Summit has morphed from the annual Non-Fungible Tokyo event that was first held back in 2018. Notably, the event will run for two days within IVS Crypto 2024 Kyoto, co-hosted by JapanBlockchainWeek and N.Avenue, the operator of CoinDesk Japan.
