21 Inc, together with BitPay, ChangeTip and BitGo, will be the leading sponsor of the upcoming bitcoin job fair in Sunnyvale on April 18th.

The Bitcoin Job Fair, an annual event targeted at connecting professionals with potential employers in the bitcoin space, is set to be held in Sunnyvale, California, on April 18th.

The announcement was first made in March by Coinality and Plug and Play Tech Center, which will organize the event.

Plug and Play Tech Center is a business accelerator, based in Sunnyvale, that specializes in new tech startups. The company’s network includes over 300 tech startups, 180 investors as well as a community of major universities and corporate partners.

The other host of the event, Coinality, is an online jobs board, where potential employees can connect with various bitcoin companies offering positions within their teams.

The bitcoin job fair will be mainly sponsored by the secretive cryptocurrency startup, called 21 Inc. Such leading industry players as BitPay, ChangeTip and BitGo will also provide the financial support.

21 Inc. has recently raised $116 million from a number of prominent investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Qualcomm, Paypal co-founders Peter Thiel and Max Levchin, eBay co-founder Jeff Skoll, Expedia CEO Dara Khosrowshahi and Zynga co-founder Mark Pincus. The company plans to increase the adoption of digital currency through “several interesting developments”.

“As we continue to see large investments into the space, the bitcoin job fair creates a perfect forum for a wide range of open positions with these quickly scaling startups,” said Scott Robinson, founder of Plug and Play’s FinTech program.

“It’s important to emphasize the needs for developers, but other non-technical positions are certainly becoming more available as bitcoin startups mature,” said Daniel Roseman, CEO of Coinality.

Such companies as Purse.io., Bitwage, Ciphrex, Coinbeyond, Blockcypher, Mirror will participate in the fair. The event will be finalized with a Q&A panel, featuring beat journalists from the Wall Street Journal, Paul Vigna and Michael J. Casey.

The bitcoin job fair has become much more popular since the event was first held in Sunnyvale. This year, it will be the fourth time the fair is arranged in Silicon Valley, a main hub for tech development and innovation.

The sponsors of the event expect the number of attendees to significantly increase this time. In comparison, last year the job fair brought 34 bitcoin startups and more than 400 participants.

In general, the interest in bitcoin jobs is steadily growing within the jobs marketplace today.

Sometimes, the bitcoin jobs market includes quite interesting positions, like the last-year job offer from Brawker startup. The company was in search of an intern who would live the whole month using only bitcoin.
