Trust Wallet said it was fully audited by A-LIGN, a technology-enabled security and compliance partner trusted by over 4,000 global organizations.

Trust Wallet, a prominent self-custodial wallet provider in the crypto industry, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first company to obtain international certifications for both security and privacy.

In a press release shared with Coinspeaker, Trust Wallet announced that it has been awarded the ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications for information security governance and privacy information management, setting new benchmarks for data management control.

Raising Standards for Web3 Companies

The Web3 wallet known for its user-friendly interface and seamless integration with decentralized applications (DApps) has now raised the bar for security standards in the Web3 space.

Trust Wallet said it was fully audited by A-LIGN, a technology-enabled security and compliance partner trusted by over 4,000 global organizations to address cybersecurity risks before it was granted the certificates.

The company assessed Trust Wallet’s security and privacy operations before approving the certifications. The self-custodial wallet provider has now set itself apart from competitors like MetaMask, setting new standards for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.

Eowyn Chen, the chief executive officer at Trust Wallet said the acquisition of the international certificates for data and security signifies the company’s robust security infrastructure and commitment to safeguarding users’ data.

“Security is always the priority at Trust Wallet, this milestone is a testament to our steadfast commitment to top-tier data security and privacy management,” said Chen.

Annual Surveillance Audits

The company’s CEO, who previously served as the Vice President at Binance, the parent company of Trust Wallet also recognized the efforts of the company’s team in securing the international security certificates.

“As the first crypto wallet that owned these certifications, our team’s hard work has placed us at the forefront of cryptographic wallet services, ensuring that our users’ data is protected with the highest international standards while maintaining innovative and smooth user experience, and we promise to continue prioritizing the security and privacy of our users in every aspect of our operations,” she said.

As the first Web3 company to receive ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, Trust Wallet plans to undergo annual surveillance audits to ensure continuous compliance with the rigorous standards of the certificates. Furthermore, the company plans to continue to enhance its security measures to ensure users’ data are safe from malicious actors.

Established in 2017 by Viktor Radchenko, Trust Wallet was later purchased by Binance in 2018. Since then, the company has been operating as a separate entity from the crypto exchange.

The platform prides itself on being the simpler, safer, and more convenient choice for millions of people worldwide to experience Web3, store, and manage their crypto assets, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Trust Wallet offers access to 10 million digital assets for trading, buying, and selling across over 100 different blockchains.
