With AUDIO, the token of the Audius platform, listeners could send tips to any artist who publishes their music on the platform, whether they have a massive following or not.

Web3 music platform Audius has collaborated with the social media platform TikTok on another new functionality. In an announcement on Thursday, the company introduced a new function that would allow new users of the music platform to easily create accounts by linking their TikTok profile. Eventually, listeners can conveniently import their handle data and transfer their TikTok verification status to Audius.

Moreover, users can also share Audius songs in their TikTok videos. Since TikTok playlists are a popular feature of the application that will help influencers’ and creators’ videos go viral, the partnership may also enhance the reach of Audius.

According to the Chief Product Officer and Co-founder of Audius, Forrest Browning, the company is excited to welcome creators on TikTok as they interact with Audius’s community and draw the attention of celebrities on TikTok. Browning also said that TikTok has evolved into a social-media force to be reckoned with in the last couple of years and Audius, wants to tap into the same space. Moreover, for Browning’s Audius community, making content creation easier for the artists is of great importance, hence the feature to import verified status from TikTok is all set to attract a greater audience.

Audius first announced its collaboration with TikTok in August of 2021, when the social media platform started enabling Audius streamers to upload music to the TikTok app’s sound library. After announcing the new feature in 2021, the price of Audius’s native token AUDIO doubled, increasing the market cap to more than one billion. However, the massive increase did not last for long and as of today, is around 32 cents, which is approximately a ninety percent plunge from August’s price.

The platform has also been able to garner the attention of Katy Perry, Nas, and Chainsmokers, who participated in the firm’s $5 million funding round in September 2021.

Last year in July, the web3 music streaming service introduced another new feature for creators to monetize their content by enabling listeners to send tips to artists. With AUDIO, the token of the Audius platform, listeners could send tips to any artist who publishes their music on the platform, whether they have a massive following or not.

Audius, a platform with an outreach of seven million listeners and 250,000 artists serves individuals who want to share their most exclusive content with their biggest fans on the blockchain. Unlike other music streaming platforms and services, Audius concentrates on rolling out the benefits of Web3. This means that it is a decentralized platform where musicians can choose how they want to monetize their content.
