ZapChain interviewed Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin, and an engineering manager at Coinbase. Lee discussed his earliest experience with Bitcoin, the creation of Litecoin, his Twitter handle @SatoshiLite, what Coinbase is going to do with the $75 million they just raised from high-profile investors, including the NYSE, Spanish megabank BBVA and others, what scams to look out for, tip buttons, etc.
Having the BS and Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, Charlie Lee has an experience of working as an engineer at Google on Google Play Games, Chrome OS, and YouTube. On July 30, 2013, Lee has joined the Coinbase team as an engineering manager.
Regarding Litecoin, Charlie Lee’s point is that Litecoin does not need any development at the moment, according to a Twitter conversation of Lee with a random user named Darth Camel. He added that implementing gimmicks does not help a currency succeed; only liquidity, merchants and users help. It seems that Lee wants people to realize that Litecoin promotion is not his responsibility in a decentralized network; rather it is everyone’s task to contribute to the cause.
During the interview, Lee admitted that he was very excited to talk to everyone on ZapChain. It appears that he is not the only one who is excited about the interview: Adam Draper posted a tweet related to the interview.
