MakeMyTrip will leverage the diversity of India’s natural resources in regions such as Goa, Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Orissa, among others.

Indian Travel Company MakeMyTrip becomes the latest addition to the NFT bandwagon with a new release of a limited edition of NFTs. The new series of digital collectibles will showcase some of India’s most popular landscapes and the profit channeled towards the country’s tourism industry.

MakeMyTrip is a renowned publicly-traded travel company that trades on Nasdaq with the MMYT ticker. With the company’s entrance into the NFT space, travelers, and anyone who is interested, can now own NFTs of their favorite destinations.

The collectibles are a confluence of new age tech with the world of travel, capturing the beauty of some of India’s most exotic locations. 

Outlook India records that the travel company has launched 25 tokens for every artwork, priced from Rs14,99 ($195) at the time of this writing. As the tokens are limited, the sale is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

According to MakeMyTrip Group Chief Marketing Officer, Sunil Suresh, anyone who wants to buy the digital collectibles can do so via the company’s website or through an application called ngageN. 

Suresh went on to state that the new release was a chance for travel lovers to own the beautiful NFTs within the digital domain. 

According to reports, MakeMyTrip will leverage the diversity of India’s natural resources in regions such as Goa, Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Orissa, among others.

It continued that the characters in the collection are AI-generated using AI Generative Adversarial Networks (GANS) and thereafter minted over the Polygon blockchain. 

Citing the founder of KoineArth, Praphul Chandra, this NFT would give Indians the opportunity to digitally own their country’s beauty and make it partisan to their individual legacy.

Praphul went on to explain that the NFTs could serve as valuable gifts for friends and loved ones and is a demonstration of how brands are committed to working with digital artists in the creation of spirited artwork. 

MakeMyTrip was founded in 2000 and headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana. Over time, the company has become a top player among the leading travel companies in India. As part of their offerings, MakeMyTrip offers online services such as airline tickets for local as well as international flights, holiday packages, hotel reservations, tickets for transportation, and car hiring services. 

The company has multiple international offices across New York, Dubai, Phuket, Bangkok, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. 

Aside from its entrance into the travel industry, digital collectibles have become a critical element in the geopolitical space, with recent citing in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. While many companies and individuals continue to send crypto aids in support of Ukraine, others are aligning themselves with NFT series releases.
