Google included bitcoin price into its search engine that will enable users to convert bitcoin to other fiat currencies.
Google Inc has updated its search engine and added bitcoin prices, which are displayed automatically when users enter certain queries.
A month earlier, multinational Internet search giant cooperated with Coinbase, a digital wallet company from San-Francisco, to create a bitcoin price tracker.
The partnership with Google Finance enables users to convert bitcoin to a large number of world fiat currencies.
In an interview to CoinDesk, a Google representative confirmed the news. He also added that the update is available on Google Search’s smartphone application.
“You can also ask Google to do conversions – if you have the Google Search app on your smartphone, for example, ask it, ‘How many bitcoin are in 500 U.S. dollars?’ and you’ll get the answer in a handy conversion tool,” said Google spokeperson.
In February 2014, Microsoft announced that its Bing search engine will add automatical currency conversions to bitcoin. Moreover, Yahoo! Finance included bitcoin price to the list of other fiat currencies last month.
In order to get an access to the update, Google users have to enter such queries as “price of BTC” or “bitcoin price.”
Besides, the new tool will be able to calculate complex queries, among others “6 BTC” or “price of 4 bitcoin”. The bitcoin calculator then displays the current bitcoin price and shows the chart of the currency’s history starting before 2011.
Still, the users must know that the search results may not demonstrate the real time value. This is because of disclaimer policies stating that financial exchanges data may be delayed.
However, several Google Search users noted that certain difficulties may arise while using the price calculator.
